Description
This is Panel A printed Sashiko Panel by Susan Briscoe from BeBe Bold. This panel features 8 large geometric blocks 8 smaller motifs. The smaller designs featured in Panel A are a variety of traditional flower motifs and 3 geometric designs.
The BeBe Bold panels are pre-stencilled eliminating the need to mark the fabric before starting to sashiko stitch. All the pre-stencilled markings wash off in tepid water when completed and each panel comes with a stitching guide and tips. The panels are printed on a beautiful Tsumugi cloth which is a Japanese shot cotton. Tsumugi is woven with a warp of black thread and a weft of the chosen colour giving the fabric a sophisticated dark slubby surface.
Tsumugi is a lovely soft fabric to work with and looks amazing when mixed with other Japanese fabrics. This panel is printed on the gold Tsumugi which is a lovely mustardy shade very suitable to mix in with many Japanese projects and fabrics and looks amazing stitched in navy blue, black or purple thread.
The panels can be made into blocks before stitching if desired to make quilts or cushions. They can be stitched as is and framed as wall-hangings or divided into lengths to make table-runners.
