This is a kit for Past Times, a favourite by Lynne Wilson. This quilt always looks amazing whatever it is made from. We’ve seen it made up in Japanese fabrics, reproduction fabrics and super bright Freespirit fabric and it looks brilliant each time. Something about the combination of blocks on point with a double sashing and four patch cobblestones just works so well. The scrappy look is achieved by using 18 fabrics for the body of the quilt and enhanced by using four different fat quarters for the border. All including these and the pattern are included in the kit. (Backing and binding not included) The quilt finishes 155 cm x 200 cm (61″ x 79″)
Lynne has republished this pattern with a much brighter, contemporary quilt pictured on the cover but we managed to keep a few of the patterns with the original more traditional cover quilt. In this kit we’ve kept a similar colour way to the original quilt, as pictured. There are dusty mid blues, rich purply browns, pinks, mostly French General and a pop of gold. This one is sure to be perfect for snuggling under on the couch in winter!
We do enjoy putting kits together for Lynne’s patterns. They are cleverly written to utilise fat quarters which are easy to cut and audition for a kit.
