Description
This is design #2 printed Sashiko Panel from BeBe Bold. This panel features 8 large geometric blocks 8 smaller motifs and four mid sized blocks. The smaller designs featured in block #2 are the origami cranes and the dragonfly motifs.
The BeBe Bold panels are pre-stencilled eliminating the need to mark the fabric before starting to sashiko stitch. All the pre-stencilled markings wash off in tepid water when complete and each panel comes with a stitching guide and tips. The panels are printed on a beautiful Tsumugi cloth which is a Japanese shot cotton. Tsumugi is woven with a warp of black thread and a weft of the chosen colour giving the fabric a sophisticated dark slubby surface. Tsumugi is a lovely fabric to work with and looks amazing when mixed with other Japanese fabrics.
This panel is printed on the grape Tsumugi which is a deep aubergine colour, very suitable to mix in with many Japanese projects and fabrics. It looks incredible stitched in mustard coloured thread and would also look great stitched in ecru or even pale blue or pale pink for a springtime look.
The panels can be made into blocks before stitching if desired to make quilts or cushions. They can be stitched as is and framed as wall-hangings or divided into lengths to make table-runners.
