Description
This is design #3 printed Sashiko Panel from BeBe Bold. This panel features 5 large oval family crest designs and eight smaller blocks. The designs all feature crops, flowers or sheafs of grain in lovely organic soft shapes. Quite a contrast to the heavily geometric deigns of other Sashiko sampler panels.
The BeBe Bold panels are pre-stencilled eliminating the need to mark the fabric before starting to sashiko stitch. All the pre-stencilled markings wash off in tepid water when completed and each panel comes with a stitching guide and tips. The panels are printed on a beautiful Tsumugi cloth which is a Japanese shot cotton. Tsumugi is woven with a warp of black thread and a weft of the chosen colour giving the fabric a sophisticated dark slubby surface. Tsumugi is a lovely soft fabric to work with and looks amazing when mixed with other Japanese fabrics.
This panel is printed on the teal colour Tsumugi cloth which is a subtle teal colour and looks fabulous stitched in white or even red thread for drama!
The panels can be made into blocks before stitching if desired to make quilts or cushions. They can be stitched as is and framed as wall-hangings or divided into lengths to make table-runners.
