Are you always looking a project that will give you that “I’m so clever… I made that myself vibe”? Well ByAnnie bags are the perfect project for you! The ByAnnie Bag making range of supplies and patterns are the brain child of Annie Unrein from Utah. The unique Soft and Stable foam stabiliser and coordinated zips, mesh and hardware contributed to the success of the project and people love them and get very easily addicted. The ByAnnie range of bagmaking equipment, hardware and supplies has been a huge success in our store. We know you’ll love it!
The Ultimate Travel bag is our most asked about large bag ByAnnie. It has been made my many many famous fabric designers to showcase their fabric (Including the examples included here by Tula Pink) Since we have been carrying Annie’s bag making range we have seen many Ultimate Travel bags made! This is your chance to make one with a tutor. The By Annie bags are supported well with youtube tutorials and detailed patterns but it is always easier to have someone show you how rather than have to puzzle it out on your own.
The Ultimate Travel Bag is the perfect overnight travel companion. This functional bag is carry-on compliant and sure to turn heads wherever you go because you can customise the look of the bag with your very own fabric choices! A comfortable padded adjustable and detachable carrying strap and quick-grab side handles make it convenient for all sorts of travel.
With a zippered and slip pockets on the front, back, and ends as well as a full zippered pocket and three more slip pockets inside, the bag will keep everything organized and close at hand. The inner pockets of the Ultimate Travel Bag are made of mesh which provides easy visibility of contents, extra stretchiness and, best of all, adds absolutely no bulk to the seams. Optional buttons on the bottom reduce wear and a handy open pocket/strap across the back helps secure the bag to your rolling luggage handle. The Ultimate Travel Bag measures 18½” long x 13¾”H x 8″D.
You don’t need any special equipment! In fact one of my favourite people, Julie Webb, who was enjoying discovering sewing again in her retirement, made one successfully on her tiny travel 45 yo travel Elna machine. Proving that the age and size of your machine is not an obstacle!! I loved seeing how proud Julie was of the project and the joy she got from completing it. She went on to make many of Annie’s nappy Changing Station organisers and other projects for grand children and new baby relatives scattered around the globe. I think of Julie a lot as I write up these ByAnnie Classes. I was shocked and very sad to find out, after I had been away in January, that she had unexpectedly passed away over Summer. Julie’s enthusiasm and zest for her projects and life generally will stay with me and my making particularly my bag making from now on! Thank you Julie!
So everyone can take a leaf from Julie’s book really, show no fear, jump in with both feet, have fun and cherish the people you meet in the process! In this class another of my fabvourite people and ByAnnie bag making expert Lynne Wilson, will take you though the process step by step and before you know it, the project will be done, you’ll be addicted and won’t be able to stop making them!
We carry all the ByAnnie bagmaking equipment and will be able to help you through the purchasing of your pattern, zips, mesh, hardware and Soft and Stable which you will be able to purchase on the day or before hand.
As well as bag making, Lynne Wilson creates patterns for eye-catching, scrappy projects with a modern approach to colour and design and a flair for combining fabrics. Customers constantly request more classes with Lynne because of her broad experience and relaxed teaching style that accommdodates all skill levels. Lynne has worked with Annie Unrein of ByAnnie Bags to bring Annie’s products to the Australian Market and has worked with Annie on her booth at Housten Quilt Market and knows her products well.
Lynne has worked in the quilting industry for many years, having owned two successful quilt shops in the Southern Highlands of NSW. She currently runs a quilt product distribution business with her husband Peter, is a sought-after teacher and visits Houston Quilt Market twice a year to show her designs and sell her patterns into the US Market.
