Are you always looking a project that will give you that “I’m so clever… I made that myself vibe”? Well ByAnnie bags are the perfect project for you! and the Running with Scissors project is super useful. Scroll down to see pics. The ByAnnie Bag making range of supplies and patterns are the brain child of Annie Unrein from Utah. The unique Soft and Stable foam stabiliser and coordinated zips, mesh and hardware contributed to the success of the project and people love them and get very easily addicted. The ByAnnie range of bagmaking equipment, hardware and supplies has been a huge success in our store. We know you’ll love it!
This class is a two day workshop (held on a consecutive Friday and Saturday) to make the forever popular Running with Scissors, zip up tool case designed By Annie Unrein for By Annie Bags in collaboration with popular fabric designer, Tula Pink. The tool case will hold Tula’s hardware collection or can be customised to fit rotary cutters, rulers, and tools from most manufacturers.
You’ll love the handy zip-up Tool Case to store and carry a variety of tools, from rotary cutters and scissors to markers, turning tools, small rulers, and more. A variety of easy-to-access pockets in vinyl, mesh, and quilted fabric can be customized to fit the tools you use and love. Whenever I see organisers out and about in quilting workshops I and always VERY impressed with how they keep all your usual supplies all together in the one place. Scroll down to see pics of the ways that they have been customised and the types of fabric combinations taht have been used. They’ll knock your socks off!! Tote Measurements: 9½”H x 12½”W x 1½”D when closed and opens to 12½”H x 20½”W
Lynne says that most people will get the organiser completed in the day. High achievers will have extra time up their sleeve and Lynne recommends that these people make a start on the companion project Small Take a Stand project. The small Take A Stand tote makes a perfect stand for the Tool Case. Just fold the Tool Case over so that the inner pockets are exposed. Place the case “billboard-style” over the upright tote. You’ll love the stability and easy access to all your supplies.
The large Take a Stand tote will hold the Running With Scissors Tool Case and/or fabric, tools, and more. Each Take A Stand tote features an adjustable, detachable carrying strap and plenty of room for supplies and more. Zippered pockets outside and divided mesh pockets inside make organization easy.
You don’t need any special equipment, just your sewing machine, concentration and patience! In fact one of my favourite people, Julie Webb, who was enjoying discovering sewing again in her retirement, made one successfully on her tiny travel 45 year old Elna lotus machine. Proving that the age and size of your machine is not an obstacle!! Julie, very sadly passed away unexpectedly a couple of years ago. I loved seeing how proud Julie was of the project and the joy she got from completing it. She went on to make many of Annie’s nappy Changing Station organisers and other projects for grand children and new baby relatives scattered around the globe. I think of Julie a lot as I write up these ByAnnie Classes. Julie’s enthusiasm and zest for her projects and life generally will stay with me and my making, particularly my bag making from now on! Thank you Julie!
So everyone can take a leaf from Julie’s book really! Show no fear, jump in with both feet, have fun and cherish the people you meet in the process! In this class, another of my fabvourite people and ByAnnie bag making expert Lynne Wilson, will take you though the process step by step and before you know it, the project will be done, you’ll be addicted and won’t be able to stop making them!
We carry all the ByAnnie bagmaking equipment and will be able to help you through the purchasing of your pattern, zips, mesh, hardware and Soft and Stable. There is a little bit or prep to do so make sure you chat to us about that. Sharon Thomson, shop owner will make a tine to help you through the prep which consists of quilting your chosen fabrics and sift and stable together before you come.
As well as bag making, Lynne Wilson creates patterns for eye-catching, scrappy projects with a modern approach to colour and design and a flair for combining fabrics. Customers constantly request more classes with Lynne because of her broad experience and relaxed teaching style that accommdodates all skill levels. Lynne has worked with Annie Unrein of ByAnnie Bags to bring Annie’s products to the Australian Market and has worked with Annie on her booth at Housten Quilt Market and knows her products well.
Lynne has worked in the quilting industry for many years, having owned two successful quilt shops in the Southern Highlands of NSW. She currently runs a quilt product distribution business with her husband Peter, is a sought-after teacher and visits Houston Quilt Market twice a year to show her designs and sell her patterns into the US Market. We have a number of classes with Lynne this year scroll through the calendar to have a look.
